In a time when war rolls in, there is a calming period where those who are prepped and ready to attack, work through final preparations, the final movement of pieces and possibly one final push to have their demands met, or else…
Further threats are issued, threats sounding no different from any in the past. With allies validated, and hidden agreements put into motion…
The time to strike draws near.
It is apparent, that the quarry about to be hit with an onslaught, has to be unaware. For no attack works better than the one unseen or unsuspected. The soon to be attacked, must be reassured that all is well, its leader will no doubt be of a suspicious nature, but either through arrogance or ignorance, he will be caught off guard, if the plan is well executed. Another frightening aspect to this scenario is the idea that the soon to be attacked Leader, has some unsuspected role in the imminent attack and was either willing to do nothing, or encouraged to do nothing.
The attacker will have bided their time for the opportune moment to strike.
Through misdirection, and false information the attacker will confuse, the soon to be attacked, and allow them to focus their attention on other more, seemingly important, but irrelevant matters. Remember, when the Japanese attacked America, as we watched the Japanese fighter planes fly overhead, none thought it would end as it did. Why should they, it was Germany that terrorized Poland in a land far from America, and dialog between America and the Japanese was ongoing. However, none realized the extent of the alliance between the Japanese and the Germans, and consequently, more than two thousand people died at Pearl Harbor.
None in America thought it possible that any would dare attack the Great America, let alone, on its own shores.
I hear these same words today, yet look around at what’s taking place in the world and wonder how it is so many can burry their heads in the sand or just ignore the nine hundred pound gorilla in the room. A friend of mine wrote to me and said…
“I don’t live my life through fear.
I never worry about ‘what if’ and am especially not worried about our government ruining my life.
I make things happen and if I don’t like things, I change it.
The government is the last thing I’m worried about.
Things get sh***y here… I’m off to New Zealand or Australia .
Who cares?
There are waaaaay bigger fish to fry.
Worrying about politics and religion is a total waste of energy…”
I have compassion for his feelings and understand that there are many who feel exactly as he does. Yet I must reason that those who wish us harm, are banking on that very feeling emanating from the majority of those whom they desire to subjugate.
However, what those who feel and think along those lines, fail to understand, is that if America falls, there is nowhere else in the world to run or to hide, because those who brought down the democracy of America will not stop at the shores of America. Any other nation proclaiming to subscribe too a democratic society, in any form, will be in the conquerors sights as well. Remember, when Hitler said he would stop at Poland’s boarder, he lied. Just ask the former Soviet Union if their assistance in the attack on Poland guaranteed that they would be spared the raft of the ruling conquerors. Hitler’s vision of what the world should look like under the German rule included his allies succumbing to his desires as well.
As I look out over the horizon, I see a storm clouding moving our way. I will, of course, go about my day-to-day, living my life as an American who believes in his country and the people in it. Nevertheless, preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best. Life is after all, too short, my friend informed me.
Should the clouds prove to be nothing more than a light drizzle, I will be thankful that my garden received the rain, my grass the water. However, our new President has many unanswered questions about his true intentions. He once said his father was not a Muslim but we now hear him say that his father was indeed a Muslim. He said he would not sign a bill until the American people had ample time to read it, but has repeatedly signed bills that should be debated by the people, and others, distributing our money into unknown whereabouts and in unknown amounts. He said he did not want to have the government interfering with the free market process, but once the government handed money over to Fannie Mae’s CEO, Franklin Raines and GM CEO Rick Wagoner, they where out of a job, by order of the President.
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
Obama has promised hope and change at this new beginning…
“We have experienced a miracle, something unique, something the like of which there has hardly been in the history of the world…
He (God) abased us, laid upon us a period of shamelessness, but now after a struggle… he has permitted us to bring that period to a close.
It is a miracle, which has been wrought… It shows us that the Almighty has not deserted our people, that He received it into favor at the moment when it rediscovered itself.
And that our people shall never again lose itself, that must be our vow so long as we shall live and so long as the Lord gives us the strength to carry on the fight.”
Indeed, Obama has informed us of our uniqueness in time and in deed. He informed the world that we had lost our way, our morals, but that we are now on the path of redemption. He has assured the world that Americas is one of the largest countries of the Muslim faith. Obama has assured the world that America would never again lose its way.
This he vowed…
The above-italicized words are those of Adolf Hitler in a speech to the “Old Guard” of the Party at Munich on March 19, 1934.
I just wanted to see if any of you have heard those same words of late.
The battles occurring in Iraq and Afghanistan, I feel, are relevant and necessary, and was inevitably unavoidable.
Our freedoms frighten even me, in the things we have aloud to unfold in its name and the things we have given up to preserve it. A society that cannot, in this day and age, decide when life begins, would surely be hard to understand if you had not been born to its understanding. So, there are those around the world who fear us and our ability to spread our beliefs beyond our boarders and are willing to do what they deem necessary, no matter how ludicrous, to stop and or destroy us.
Human nature dictates our actions, whether we accept it our not. No matter how many times in the past it has occurred, we have yet to learn and understand the signs of approaching conflict. So, we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
I pray that America is the strong and resilient nation it has proven to be throughout history, because no matter how you look at it, in this battle…
…only the strong will survive.
It is our nature.
Sad.
Can we change things? Perhaps.
Will we? Who knows.
Only time will tell.
