As the sun sets on another political career due to arrogance and irresponsibility, Gov. Sanford again shows an inability to do the right thing.
Go find another job.
It is not so much the fact that Gov. Sanford can’t find it within himself to honor a contract he made with the mother of his children, but the manner in which acted by going to Argentina to spend time with his love interest.
I could care less about that fact that he is human and will behave as such, because his actions speaks volumes about his character and his ability to lead a state, let alone a nation. He was obviously a man confused and torn inside, which is fine, but it speaks to us as a nation and how we have allowed our representatives do what they will with our trust. We have forgiven and forgiven and now look at what we have.
Former President Bill Clinton brought an Intern into the Whitehouse and, without question, used the Oval Office as a sex domain while he was supposed to be performing the peoples business. It was, shrugged off, as something between him and his wife.
Hogwash!
We have politicians, openly committing crimes such as, Illinois Democratic Senator Durbin's Insider Trading with no penalty attached to committing such an offense. However, an investigation has been ongoing for months without any answer for the American public.
Just another arrogant move by our representatives to stretch the boundary’s of their power until it can be forgotten, and conveniently swept under the rug.
As the sun sets on this disgraceful moment with Gov. Sanford, how grand it would be to awake one morning and find a completely new batch of Senators and Congressman walking the halls of Washington. A whole new set of Governors and Mayors who run our states and cities. Each endowed with the realization that when they get elected, they either do the job we put them in office to do, or they will be fired and replaced by someone who understands their place when it comes to representing the people of America.
Americans, if you’re wondering why Washington is such a souse pool of corruption, look in the mirror.
We the people are the problem.
We commit acts of insanity.
We keep electing the same people, expecting different results.
